TMS Increases Productivity
Sennheiser is a worldwide headphones manufacturing company with a manufacturing plant located in Tullamore. The workforce ranges from 200 to 300 depending on seasonal demands.
Sennheiser installed Advance Systems’ time and attendance software, TMS, in 2001. The previous computerised time and attendance system was unable to provide for the company’s requirements in a satisfactory manner. According to Mr Frank Concannon, IT Manager: “Since installing Advance Systems’ TMS our employee attendance has improved. TMS has enabled us to keep a better audit of employee attendance, managers can run reports using the report writer, which in turn has led to an increase in productivity. Forward planning is of vital importance to us as we implement a 24-hour rostering system.’’
Flexible System
Mr Concannon also explained that TMS is the most flexible system he had seen as it has enabled him to integrate with his own business systems through the ODBC interface. The Auto ID card software enables Sennheiser to design and print their own ID cards which can be used to aid the security of the plant, particularly as the company moves towards having a 24-hour a day shift rotation roster.
Excellent User Support
One of the most significant elements of the installation was the level of service and support that Advance Systems was able to offer. Having that commitment of service was essential as Sennheiser needed this reliability of support to integrate the system with their main business systems.
Security of Access Control
Sennheiser also installed Advance Systems’ Access Control Hardware and Software (which operates from the same database) to control movement within various parts of the plant. Now Sennheiser can restrict access and report on attempted violations through the audit trail. This was a critical security measure with an ever-expanding work force and proposed new irregular working hours. "It is a huge time saver as recording and accessing data from swipe cards is instantaneous. By further linking this to the fire alarm, we are able to produce an automatic fire report every time the fire panel is activated", explained Mr Concannon.
Mr Concannon says that the selection of Advance Systems over competitors was an easy choice to make – as they could offer a versatile system that provided the ability to interlink with other software systems, combined with great support and a professional attitude, adding: “I have not had a single problem that Advance Systems has not been able to solve.” He also said he would recommend Advance Systems to any company wishing to install time and attendance software or an access control system.
